Silviu Tudor
From High School Varsity to National Stages
Silviu’s rowing story began in the crisp autumn of 2012, where the Saugatuck River in Westport, CT, became his training ground. As a high school junior, he wasted no time joining the varsity squad, soon making waves at some of the Northeast’s most prestigious regattas. Competing three times at the Head of the Charles Regatta, he captured a standout 4th-place finish in the Men’s Single Sculls in 2015. He also earned his place at the US Rowing Youth National Championships three times, finishing 8th in the Men’s Single Sculls in 2016. Silviu’s high school years were decorated with medals in the Men’s Eight, Four, and Quad, but his most cherished moment was leading the Men’s Quad to victory at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in 2014.

Turning Competitive Drive Into Leadership
His passion for rowing took him across the Atlantic each summer to train in Ghermanesti, Romania, with the Dinamo Bucharest Club. There, in 2014, he brought home silver and bronze medals from the Romanian Youth Nationals in the Men’s Pair and Double. After earning a spot on the Romanian Junior National Team, Silviu made the bold decision to return to the United States, determined to chase his dream of rowing at the collegiate level.
Inspiring the Next Generation Through Rowing
Silviu’s journey continued when he was recruited to row for Syracuse University, where he became a driving force in the boat. Competing at the Eastern Sprints and IRA National Championship, he helped propel the 3rd varsity eight to impressive finishes. In the fall of 2016, he rowed with Syracuse’s 2V, earning a strong 18th place at the Princeton Chase. Today, Silviu channels his love for the sport into coaching, guiding young athletes not only to reach their athletic goals but also to develop the daily habits that shape character for life. He is committed to inspiring the next generation to dream boldly, reminding them that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible.
